Il Trovatore Prototype - 2010

Il Trovatore (Prototype) - 2010

This work was very funny to make and took place while I was assistant of Jum Nakao, renowned Brazilian creative director. Nakao was invited to develop a costume for the opera Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi, for the reopening of the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, and decided to work with a recyclable costume, all made of paper.
A prototype was developed following the idea of being done on paper, but the director of the opera has not approved the concept.
The following images are of the costume fitting, where I gained a few pounds (fake pounds, please!) to look like a real opera singer.

My work in this project involved sewing, pattern making, taking measures of the full opera cast and the costume fitting.

Others designers involved in this project: Bruna Valente, Joceli Oliveira, Juliana Zampini and Patricia Maria Grossi.
